flux in poetry

you will never become you
you will never become yourself
your essence is not a static beginning or end
your truest self is a never-ending process of becoming
you stop being you when you stop changing

or maybe life isn’t so much about changing as it is
figuring out which parts of yourself you want to
let take the wheel and navigate your life-line
or maybe it’s both, it could be both
the secret is that it’s always both

embrace that you’re a work in progress
embrace that you’re a shifting process
in your multitudes and your mutations
you will always be changing and
it’s what makes living worth it
your beauty’s in the flux
