Ready to go, again. in A small but passable life.

I’ve got the alarm set for 6am tomorrow. I hope I wake up before it starts going off. I’ll put on a pot of coffee and start loading the car and getting all the outside stuff put inside. I think it took me about an hour or so last time I did it, last Spring.
And then we’ll head East. I’ve found a route on a never before driven by me road. I love all those two lane highways. Especially if they are going through wild country. The emptier the better. It’ll be hard to beat Highway 93 through Nevada or that road from Bend to Burns, OR.
We should be at the motel in time for check-in at 3pm. We’re “Elite” status now so maybe we’ll be able to check in early.
Yesterday I took a neighbor to go pick up a car. It was about a twenty mile round trip. I took the freeway and set the cruise control on 65mph. The current miles-per-gallon readout has jumped up to 32.4 mpg. I’m really curious as to how much better it will get once we do solid highway driving. Oh yeah, after that last errand the new car now has 412 total miles on it. That’s since July 2nd, minus the 18 miles it had on it when we brought it home. Crazy.
So yeah, here goes another road trip. This one may not be 3200 miles. Or it may.
And I may be updating daily.
