With spatter. Photo: G.

I was just thinking that I bet the carpeted stairs on the first floor were as poorly constructed as the back stairs.

The stairs and floors have been G’s focus for the last few weeks. Unlike the long, shallow stairs at the big house, which I bet they have carpeted over, these are narrow and miserly. I helped with spattering that flight of stairs, but not this flight. The other flight of 19 stairs had a painted blue background. This flight has a strong terra cotta. It’s muted now…looking a bit like the Queen Mary linoleum.

He’s been taping off the stairs and gathering tiny cans of different color paints at 50 cents each. George spattered color on last night. He pulled the tape and plastic off this morning, and we went to home depot to get blue. A nice strong blue will make a good border color. Another tiny can of paint.

I’m doing a little quilting. Maybe reading too. Imagine. Perhaps watching golf and reading. Imagine.

Still a last clear coating and a touch up on the white walls, and he is done.
