Jake in Second 1st

It was nearly 15 years ago. He was the sweetest guy to ever show interest. It was a long distance thing. We knew it could not last. It was an extra part of good times when I visited a couple times. We were there when my bestie had her first baby. It was good. He is a great memory. Trying to think back to why it ended and neither of us are sure. We blame distance, time, anything but ourselves.

Jacob was tall, nerdy, but super sweet. Probably to a level that made me slightly uncomfortable. I remember Destiny being upset about us going out for V-Day one year. I being her best girl friend and him being her best guy friend. She named us her first born’s God parents but when she needed us neither one of us were there.

At some point Jake ended up with a girl who verbally abused him. What I’ve been told so far is that when they got married he wasn’t allowed to invite any of his family at all. I wanted to say “should have been a sign” but I held my fingers. He said after she had their son (now 4 and 1/2) it got real bad. They decided to end it and he moved out in March. Divorce was final the 28th of June. He has his son 1/2 the time and pays her $24 a week in child support. Now he’s allowed to talk to Destiny, and subsequently me.

He has been hospitalized twice because of mental breakdowns, once for 3 weeks. He described himself as an emotional tampon :(. I want to hug him. I want to hold him so much my arms hurt. Poor guy. As to how he lost us.... He was told Destiny was using him for money and His wife was the only truth. Hanging out with Destiny was something that made his wife angry so it was something he didn’t do. When he lost her, he lost me. Over the next few days I hope to find some time to really just chat, let him dump everything.

I asked him if he has people he could talk to. He said just me and Destiny :(. She killed everything.
