Before the concept of the rest stop was applied in my country, I’ve already seen plenty of them in Hollywood movies.

Basically, a rest stop is a temporary spot where you can do some stuff for a while, before continuouing your journey. Sleep. Eat. Buy some groceries. Refill the gas for your car.

Anything you can think of doing.

To some people, a rest stop can also mean other things. Some sit for a while to decide their next destination.

Where are you going after the rest stop? Where will you choose to be? Is it somewhere moving forward or going back?

Can ‘going back’ also be considered ‘moving forward’? In some cases, sometimes the future is right where we left it, not where we seek. It’s an unfinished business waiting to be completed. It can also be what you’ve always taken for granted, now giving you another chance to reconnect.

To some people, they may need a while to finally make up their minds. That’s why they stay a bit longer at the rest stop. It is the in-between, a pause.

Be careful, though. What’s supposed to be just a rest stop might be your permanent one, especially if you take too long to decide. Of course, it’s a different story if you wish to stay there.

So, how much do you like where you are now?
