I'm happy to see the site has survived in my absence and new faces continue to pop up!
Anyway, just thought I'd say hi and let everyone know that things on my immediate to-do list are:
- ability to delete comments
- improved navigation (including navigation between recent entries)
- improved recent entries (above navigation, only listing a given user's latest entry once to avoid spamming by prolific writers, and paging back)
- improved bookmark listings (with a view grouped by person and their latest entry)
Oh yeah, and at some point I do need some established rules for the site. Some of my thoughts are:
- No pornographic images allowed
- While erotic stories and mature content will be allowed, add the ability for authors to flag entries as mature, as well as allowing the community to flag mature content as well. (this is also a matter of practicality since Google Ads has some pretty strict guidelines that can be easily violated, as I've discovered already)
- No flame baiting or trolling
- Harassment, threats and hate speech will not be tolerated
- No copy-and-paste of copyrighted material
And I'm sure there are a lot of other things. In fact, you know what would be super-awesome? If there are civic-minded folks out there who would like to be part of a rules committee. That would help free me up to focus more on the technical stuff, now that I've put my basic thoughts out there. Any volunteers? :)

Welcome baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Yes, I counted the a's. Ha! Hope your vacation was splendid! I have a lot on my plate right now, but I will think about helping with the rules committee. I'm feeling stretched thin these days.

I am not a rules committee sort of person, but I'll keep working on a FAQ for the site, so that doesn't take up time you could be spending on coding. Anyone else who wants to contribute to the FAQ can send me their Q&A, and I'll edit, compile, and update as Prosebox evolves.

Oh right, I've seen that problem with touch devices. Will change things at some point so that's not a problem. For now you can just use the menu on the main page rather than the top slider menu.

Welcome Back. I'm not sure what all I can bring to a rules committee except I seem to have quite a bit of common sense.. I've been told this many times after grabbing idiots by the collar right before they step out into the street & telling them that there's cars coming. Still think I shoulda let a couple of them go ahead & step out, you know, to thin the herd out somewhat. Ahem... *snickers at the thought...Anywaaaays... keep up the good work, you know where to find me.

I just joined (in your absence apparently) thank you for having me! I have a million things going on at the moment, so I don't know what time I can dedicate to you, but as a 13 year veteran of Open Diary, I know I can certainly point you in the right direction as to what obstacles they had to overcome to help build their community as well as all they still have yet to overcome and for some reason haven't been able to.
A writing community like this deserves a vast audience, it's something that OD could never quite accomplish. In all my time there it's always felt like they're barely keeping their head above water. They've experienced tremendous exiles to live journal and just about any other writing site that has popped up over the years because of their inability to maintain an efficient and secure web presence.
I do have a busy schedule, I try to work as often as I can, but if I can help in your journey to make Prosebox the number one site of its kind, I'm here for ya.
