Weather! in The View from the Terrace

This weather is unbelievable. This morning I woke to sunshine, it was cold but settled and I was planning to plant my winter window boxes. I've been trying to get them done since November, the poor little pansies are still sitting in trays on the patio table.

I was having my morning coffee when I noticed it was hailing! now it is wet and windy again.

The floods in Somerset are terrible. The Somerset levels have been under water for 4 weeks. People are living on temporary islands and going to get groceries in boats. I read somewhere that Somerset means the land of the summer people, at one time nomadic people only went there in the summer months, perhaps they had the right idea! I'm joking, of course. I'm sure the flooding makes the land fertile but it must be awful for the people.
