Chuckie is continuing to slide into territories I find truly frightening.
Are there Mexican Neo-Nazis?
The other day he was wearing a red shirt emblazoned with that famous photo of Ché Guevara with the caption “Socialism is for fags” and then a black-gloved, limp-wristed hand. I could not believe it for several reasons. The first of which… what a confusing message? I mean, are they implying Guevara was gay? Because that’s certainly not true (although, Chuckie and the truth have a very strained relationship).
I posed the question on Facebook about what it means and people seemed to think it was funny. I, however, do not. Ché Guevara was a violent, murderous man (thankfully, one comment on my Facebook was from a friend whose family was from Cuba, and he was able to provide important context to the reality, even if his spelling made it difficult to understand), and usage of the word “fag” denotes a strong message.
I mean, it’s such a bizarre statement, I don’t even know what to think of it.
But I know one thing, Chuckie and I have had our disagreements recently, particularly about my sexuality (which is ironic because when he was 16, he was the only one who was on my side), so that means he knew exactly what he was doing when he wore that shirt in my presence. He wore it to set me off. He wants attention.
But I’m really trying to figure out where in the hell it came from? I was thinking about our conversation about gender and sex, and when I told him that there were more than two sexes, he just said, “Well, that’s your opinion.” That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. “Well, my opinion is that there are two sexes.” “That’s like me saying, the sky is blue, that’s a fact and then you looking at me and saying, ‘That’s your opinion.’”
Objective existence isn’t subject to an opinion.
But then again, I’m too abstract a thinker for most people (I won’t say smart, because it’s not intelligence). I remember, the one time I preached a sermon was during Thanksgiving, and afterwards, the pastor came up to me and told me that that was far too complex of a message to derive from Scripture for a general audience to understand and really belonged in a Master’s Level Seminary course. I was 19.
Chuckie is now 19. What the fuck is his excuse? I was likening The Last Supper to Thanksgiving and he’s calling socialists fags… Are we even related?!
