Why I Separate Americans from Trumpists in Book Five: Working Through the Maze 2018

I have friends who are passionate conservatives. They believe in fiscal responsibility, are social conservatives, and believe guns should be more readily available than medicine. But they are sick of Trump’s shit, especially after his “Act like a tyrant, worship the tyrants, attack our allies” strategies. Trump is charging the government exorbitant fees as he and his people stay in Trump Owned properties… literally using the Government to enrich himself at Tax Payer expense. Trump has pushed a Trump First agenda that many conservatives are sick of.

And then there are the Trumpists. The people that say, no matter what happens: Trump is the best thing ever. I see this throughout Iowa. The trade bullshit that Trump has been doing since he took office has directly hurt the Ag Markets in Iowa in measurable ways. But Iowans still support Trump because the financial fears are about immigrants and taxes. So throw out the immigrants and promise lower taxes; and they love you. Of course, the Iowa Immigration problem is not the focus… Iowa is filled with Vietnamese, Chinese, Serbian, Cambodian, Ghanian, Nigerian, Korean, and Iranian refugees along with hundreds or thousands of international students and businesses. And they are all here legally. SO… Trump isn’t going to satisfy those Iowans who get so openly hostile when they hear non-English languages at wal-mart. As for lower taxes? Sorry, folks. The trailer park population isn’t going to see dime 1 of Trump’s tax cuts. I wish you’d read the tax bills before buying the rhetoric.

This won’t change minds. But my “Trumpist” Cousin posted a stream of pro-Trump bullshit today.

He is a construction worker with two kids. He believes Trump is the 2nd Coming. Why?

It isn’t fair to pigeonhole Trump supporters. BUT… I’ll put it this way:
When my cousin was growing up, his father left but kept in contact. Cousin grew up hearing from his dad “what it meant to be a man.” So… we all thought he might beat his mother to death. Because Cousin would say (at 12 years old to his mother) that she couldn’t tell him what to do. She was a woman, so after she cooked and cleaned her responsibility was to shut the hell up and not bother the men. That was 12. At 15, he went to go live with his dad and “learn at the feet of the master.” So… his misogyny got a lot worse. And his racism EXPLODED. To the point where he’s making those “The only good minority is a dead minority” kind of comments.

SO… no. I won’t assume all Trumpists are woman-hating under-educated racists. That isn’t a fair characterization. What I will say is that, personally in my life and in my jurisdiction, the people who support Trump even now, even after everything, can be accurately described as woman-hating under-educated racists.
