Larkspur, CO is about 45 miles or so out of Denver proper. How many times in my railroad career have I ran over this icon. This picture, a spring snow storm. The “orange car” A Datsun 240-Z. I was working as a machinist with the BN ( Burlington Northern ) Who knew a few months later, I would hire on, in engine service with the Santa Fe. A few pictures..

An Ore Drag to Minnequa, when the CF&I still had blast furnaces and made steel. How many of these did I run.

Santa Fe 414, Engineer Elvin Bethurmn and Head brakeman Morris Huff. This is a shot on top of the Larkspur bridge. Elvin always killed the headlight, why can’t tell ya. I fired for Elvin many a time.
