Public Speaking Fails and New Classes (March 27, 2013) in Old OD Entries

So tomorrow is my sign-up day for my classes for the fall. I am kind of freaking out... I am hoping that I get the ones that I want. I have made a specific plan and made a back up plan and all that shit so nothing will go wrong...ugh my luck that something will go wrong anyway.

Man, I dodged a fucking bullet today...So my major requires me to take a public speaking class (pretty much every major does unfortunately). I was really stressed about it. I can think of two especially horrible times where I failed at public speaking.

1. 6th grade I had to give some sort of speech in front of my class for 4-H. I got up there and as soon as I saw all those eyes on me I couldn't speak...I immediately got sick and I passed out in front of everyone and hit my head on a desk as I went down. I ended up in the nurses office.

2. 10th grade I had to give an oral presentation on something that I can't remember. Same as last time...I got up there and looked at all those eyes on me and I lost the words...I stammered and looked at the floor and my teacher was not being helpful at all. I ended up running to the bathroom and puking. I just stayed in the bathroom until class was over. I was so embarrassed.

But these classes fill up really fast because the seniors take them and they get to sign up for classes first. So yea not taking it the fall semester...probably going to be a wimp and save it for last.

So far this is what I plan to take:

1. Political Science 210

2. Sociology 201

3. Psychology 315

4. History 122

5. Art History 210

These don't seem too bad. All the teachers I chose have good reviews. I was going to take my math class, but the next one that I need to take is Math 210 which is all statistics based and that is pretty much what my psychology class consists of...so am I going to take two statistics based courses?...fuck that!

I have been fooling around with this schedule for the past three hours. Just making sure everything is in order. I knew that I was not going to take an 8 a.m. class because I am not a morning person...you try to wake me up before 8:30 a.m. and I will kill a bitch.

I just hope that all these damn classes have spots open. Wish me luck.
