Friend attempted suicide trying understand why in Misadventures of West Virginia Woman

My friend Tella attempted suicide today. Took 4 bottles with sleeping pills, pain pills and bipolar medicine. Her husband Justin called the police and an ambulance. She refused to go but her roommates put her in the ambulance.

Justin stayed home to try to find a sitter for Ryan. Tella and Justin’s son. I drove to the hospital to check on her. They induced vomiting with charcoal and pumped her stomach. I asked her why she did it. She said her family doesn’t love her. I got mad not thinking I smacked her! I told her I am a sister from another mister! Her best friend. Not all family is blood! Before doing something this stupid call for help! She kept throwing up blood and charcoal. After talking to her She said when she took all those pills she heard me in her saying she has a child to raise she needs to get medical help to live! She rushed to get help because she remembered me saying suicide isn’t the answer.

I told Justin get up here and talk to her. She needed family. He told me but Sarah you are her family. Justin came up there for Tella to say she rather die then be compared to Justin’s ex girlfriend Becca. I told Tella talk with your husband stop having an open relationship if they love one another infidelity needs to stop! I told her if she wants the relationship to last they need better communication quit having sex with other people! I told them Ryan their son deserves a mom and dad! Don’t let suicide take away a family.

I talked with Tella. Hugged her told her I loved her. Made her promise she would never do it again. She been one of my best friends since 2006. I reminded her She is loved! Deserves more than I can offer.

They haven’t checked how damaged her kidneys and liver are from the pills. I hope her damage isn’t that bad! If it is i hope we can find a match to replace her organs.

I stayed as long as I can but I have to work in morning. I held Tella as she cried. Justin and I have to work in the morning. Sorry Tella.

I hope Ryan will be okay. He saw his mom rushed out by ambulance to get her stomach pumped. This is a lot to understand as a 6 year old poor dear.

I got 4 hours to sleep before I have to go to work.. Night
