This is Me, Procrastinating in Day by Day

I’m writing a new grant and since its been a few months since I’ve run the numbers, I need to do a lot of tedious entries to compile the data and then turn it into statistics. I’m struggling to get into it. This is me, procrastinating. It’s silly, really. I just need to start. Once I do, I’ll be immersed for hours. But not until I put those first few words on paper.
Other non-profit news: I banked the matching grant funds. Almost $12K! We needed the infusion. In the past few months we’ve put 6 recipients in new-to-them used cars, and paid for car repairs for 5 people. That’s on top of helping a dozen people with housing.
On one hand, it is bleak news that the need is growing. The good news is that we are reaching the majority of young adults who come through or portals. The budget program just continues to strengthen.
We’re wanting to pull off a quick get away but matching schedules is challenging. At this point I think we may slip away after I do budget class on Saturday. Now I have to decide: beach, St. Augustine (with stop off to GypsyWynd so we know what her vote is), inland to Winter Park maybe, or south to Key West. No matter which direction, it will be scorching hot.
Okay, it’s back to the grant writing, due by August 1st.
