the opposite of hate is not love, it is obsession
love and obsession are actually quite different things
no matter what the television or the computer tells you
if you’re going to go around holding up a boombox
pumping out Peter Gabriel in the hopes of turning
someone’s ten thousand nos into one little yes
you aren’t going to end up kissing in the rain
you’re going to end up in the back of a cop car
and you will deserve it you obsessive creep you
don’t listen to the movies, love is understanding
love is respect and love is love
obsession sells us advertisements
obsession markets us fancy clothes
obsession isn’t love, love instead
