So, the 7 year old was complaining that someone called her a tomboy. Because she was doing “boy things”. I told her there’s no such thing as boy things or girl things. Just kid things. Boys can play with dolls, just as much as girls can vote. She’s aggressive and loud-mouthed, but trust me, she’s quite “girly”.
I just assumed it was a kid at school making fun of her.
Nope, it was her Grandma.
Massive. Massive facepalm. Way to shame your granddaughter.

Ugh. My FIL was recently babytalking at our six month old and said something about never trusting boys. I wanted to punch him! Dude, what the hell, how about don’t trust assholes but also we shouldn’t let boys be assholes? Don’t put that on my infant daughter already.
The older generations have some stupid thoughts on gender roles.
