The Last Month in Thirty-Three

Hey kids…sorry I left you guys hanging, but if you’re on Facebook you know what’s going on already lol.

Anywho, recap. I went to LC to be with my dad while he was in the hospital. They ended up sending him to Las Cruces from Silver because after the EKG they found that he was in Atrial Fibrillation and the EKG was just abnormal. So they flew him out Saturday night.

I almost packed up and left that night at like midnight. They ended up flying him out around 4 so it wouldn’t have made sense for me to go then. I left here around 7am sunday morning though. Randy wanted me to take the truck but I told him no, sorry I’m taking the car. argh.

Anywho so I got there and he was doing better, just had been having trouble breathing and he had an ulcer that started acting up. He was also very exhausted from going nonstop.

So they had scheduled a catheterization for Monday afternoon. That took forever to get done, they kept having to push it back because there were emergencies and whatnot. At least he wasn’t the emergency that time.

All of this took me back to 2002 when he went in for the same procedure and ended up having a triple bypass a few days later. I missed the first week of my senior year of high school because of that. Anyway so we just sat around all day waiting for them to come get him to do the procedure. My aunt and uncle (his two siblings that live closeby) came up and my cousin jeremy showed up. Also his cousin rosa was there as well.

Anyway, so they did the cath monday afternoon finally. Took about an hour or so. They found that his LAD artery was 95% narrowed, so the dr. put a stent in right then and there. Opened that up nicely and that was it. His 16 year old bypasses looked to be in perfect condition as well. So that was a relief.

He was in the hospital until tuesday afternoon. Then I took him back to Hurley and we rested that night. Had to go pick up his car from the hospital in Silver and we got something to eat and then came home. Wednesday morning we packed him up and headed back to Tucson. Didn’t bother bringing his car, he just came with me.

We got back into town and I showered and we went to the Tower of Power concert he was looking forward to before all of this happened. That was pretty freaking awesome as well. Found out really why my dad loves them so much. One of their songs was his and my mom’s song. I didn’t know that, but now I do. It was a good night for sure.

All was well there and a few people called him and whatnot to see how he was doing. My brother couldn’t even be bothered to come by and see him. Ugh I’m so over that bullshit.

But he also talked to a couple of the people from the church and told him that he’s not going to be helping out there anymore. FINALLY! Soooo yeah that was last week. We didn’t do much of anything the rest of the week. Sunday and Monday were spent getting stuff ready for the following week. We left Tuesday after Randy got out of work and headed back to Hurley.

My dad had an appointment on Thursday but we spent Wednesday out at the River. We had originally planned on taking the truck out there, because we had the dogs, but as soon as we pulled into my dad’s yard, the truck was making a hissing sound and we found it had busted a hose. UGH! We had spent Monday and Tuesday fixing some of the vacuum lines to get the cruise control working, and we think while that was going on, one of the other hoses was coming loose and cracking. Blargh.

We ended up packing everything up in my dad’s car and heading out there. It was a good day anyway. Those pics are on FB. Had a little bbq and we all got in the water, except for my dad. I was really surprised that Dice actually wanted to get in the water, but he sure did! I knew Poker was going to love it, because he’s a water dog, he loved getting in the pool lol.

So that was good. Had some burgers and chicken and i Made some deviled eggs. We were out there for about 4 hours or so and then came home. I managed to take a tumble in the water, thanks to our poor decision making to walk down the river lol. meh. My knee hurts and so does my hip. blargh.

anyway, we went to my dad’s appointment with him and then had lunch and we headed out after that. my dad stayed back and will probably come back with me in a month after his appointment in Las Cruces. That is at the end of June, so he’ll come back for the 4th and then head back home for a while.

I’m hoping to get our pool set up sometime this weekend or when Randy is off on Wednesday/Thursday. We have to go buy shoes this week sometime too. we both need new shoes. And I also have to buy a new mod because mine is dying slowly lol. I’m going to do that today though. Change it up a bit, hopefully nothing too expensive.
