We were checked out and on the road by 7am. We were headed to the aquarium in Longbeach. We arrived at about 9:30am. The first part of that adventure was finding a place to park in a parking garage. We ended up on the third level. And of course, the elevator didn’t seem to work. We walked down three flights of stairs. I carried Mom’s walker.

It was a very nice place. Good displays. Good information. We really enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the zoo. We saw most of it until Mom started stopping and resting more and more. I called it quits with maybe one more display to see. Mom agreed with me. We left. Mom waited at street level at the parking garage in a very nice security guard’s chair while I retrieved the car. Yeah, now the elevator was working.

We headed north. I decided against Venice Beach and the Santa Monica pier. Mom wasn’t doing any more walking for the day. I headed straight north through Los Angeles on the 405. Barefoot driving at its finest. The traffic only came to a complete stop twice during the drive. We arrived at the motel at 2pm. They had a room ready. I unloaded the car and then we went to Chili’s for dinner. After a sit in the hot tub and a swim I was done for the day.

To be continued.
