Of course I love my childbabies. Sometimes a woman's just gotta vent. And I totally loved the note about how Cute is a defense mechanism, lol, it must be true! hahahaha.
Tonight L and I watched the third episode of the first season of Breaking Bad. I bought season one in town the other day and had never watched it, but knew L would enjoy it after seeing Bryan Cranston (sp?) interviewed about it once on a talkshow. And yes, I am cringing in parts but loving it. I just love how terribly nerdy this guy is and yet he really does BREAK BAD! Like, really bad! Lol.
Today I took my youngest daughter L to the town preschool to enrol for next year. I've put her name down for two days a week but will start with one day a week. The enrolment paperwork took forevverrr but luckily I was at a kid-oriented centre, which meant L didn't get the shits and instead painted and drew on cardboard and stuck feathers on things and so on. I think next year preschool will be a good thing in her life. I think I will be happy to have one day off too, lol, I've been a stay-at-home mum since L was born with not many days off in between at all, and I have loved it immensely, but I think I'm ready for just a bit of time-out! And well, when we get to two days a week, I hope to work that second day.
So anyway after that we went to the next town to do groceries but we also stopped in at the pet shop to look at doggie cages, as my dog is growing out of his quite quickly. While there we looked at all sorts of birds and fishies. I couldn't believe how much some birds cost to buy, when they hang around my house all the time and I get to watch them FOR FREE! Booyah! Seriously, one pair of birds was like $1300 to buy. Holy moly! I know some people reading this might think, wow Colour, you should catch those birds in your backyard and make a killing! True, but I much prefer leaving animals alone and where they belong. What are you going to do with a bird in a cage? Stare at it while its life is a misery. I'd much rather watch these happy birds in their natural environment. ANYWAY. So I also saw some really cute baby chicks. Some were so new that they were under a heat light still! And I was like awwwwwww, and then I was like omg omg omg I could go home with some TODAY! RIGHT NOW! So I found out what it would cost and well..... $60 isn't exactly money I want to spontaneously spend right now. That's about what I need for my doggy's next cage! So that's that. Maybe next time, lol. I just think it would be so awesome for my girls to hold a baby chick and to handle it as it grows and get soft cuddles and awww!!!!! Give it litte kisses!!! And hear it do a tiny little cheep cheep! LOL.
After that I had to buy some car polish, so I parked outside Coles (cos I also had to do groceries) and walked all the way to the auto shop which would've been more than a kilometre round-trip, and it felt GOOD! To be walking about with my littlest in her pram and wow, feeling that fresh air on my face! I walked under a tree that I drive past a fair bit and I noticed that it actually has little pink flowers on it, something you just don't see from just driving passed, you know. Life is precious, you have to breathe in every moment and enjoy the little details. You have to soak in the colours around you wherever you find them, but especially the ones you find in nature.
So then I did the groceries. Oh I also bought myself a new pair of jeans, FINALLY. I'd been wanting to buy jeans for quite some time now as the two pairs I have are just ill-fitting due to being old. So I had a place recommended to me by a friend, to buy jeans from, and today they had "50% off" signs outside the shop, so I walked in. It seemed to be a storewide sale going by the signs everywhere, but unfortunately the sale did not apply to jeans. (of all things) Still, I walked out with a pair that cost me $50 and I had expected to spend $80-$100 so that's pretty good! These jeans fit me properly around my hips and waist. I can't stand pants/jeans that sit at the hips and zip up just above your vagina, like dude, they are NOT pants! And I actually have long legs and a short torso, so finding a pair of jeans that FIT nice isn't easy. I was very happy with what I got. One problem - I need to lose a couple of centremetres in order for them to fit JUST RIGHT. But hey, I have pants! Woohoo!
I also bought Lucy some cute red boots. I've been wanting to buy her a nice pair of boots for ages, because the ones she has were given to us and yeah they're cute and all but they are scuffed badly and anyway ... I found a nice red pair, even though black would've been my first choice. I've just had trouble finding her a decent pair of boots. So red it is. Red's good, too.
No plans tomorrow. Staying home and picking more nits out of L's hair. Yeah that's right, NITS. Omg it's so disgusting. Even though it's not a sign that we are ferals or neglecting our kids or anything, it just FEELS disgusting. And she's had them for a few weeks, I've been having trouble getting rid of them but we are almost there. Surprisingly, M doesn't have them and I am SO relieved about that because it means she won't be taking them to school and spreading them around the community, lol.
L messaged me before and suggested that we book a babysitter for Saturday afternoon. After almost two years of moving here, we are finally ready to embark on the whole 'babysitter' option (we used to rely heavily on his parents to babysit a lot, because they were 10mins away and willing and good at it). We've been talking about getting a babysitter for a few months now, so that we can go on a date, but haven't actually organized anything or even looked into it. Honestly it's because part of me is a bit scared. I KNOW I have nothing to worry about, but it's just like...... I don't know. New.
