Invisible Fence and Mr Moose in Misc. Thoughts opinions, the whole trash can.

The training session was yesterday April 30th at 11:30. A young woman called and said she was on the way. I said “be ready, he’s a little wild man”..” I was a Vet-Tech, so I am okay”. GREAT!!!

She shows up… and Moose is YES a NEW Person!!!. She placed him, where she needed. That training disc. Yes place to 1.5 foot , BAMM the tone and small zap Down becomes a new reality. She wanted a tighter collar without choking, because it sends the signal better. Got a lot of tips for the training.

The fence was increased, and the next training will be at the full level. It is gradual, because they don’t want to traumatize the dog, instill fear, and cause withdrawal from activity. The Moose did well, understands it. Yes some failures, out of bounds, a count of 5, and pull back with praise. During training, it is a “leash” hook up, so you can guide and pull back. I have noticed, even without a leash..we are getting it. Is he a MENSA candidate, NO, but he is smart.

Moose is becoming much more calmer. With us, and others… No the meeting other dogs. I want so much, for him to interact more. BUT!! with dog owners …I don’t want the yer dog did this and that. Yes he is a rough house, but again, with no previous training. I found out from the “trainer”, who had Moose for two weeks, he was the second foster. He had 2 other foster Labs besides Moose, plus his Lab. SO… stimulus.. puppy… energy with a 20,000,000 dose of this does not compute. I don’t condone, but dealing with the cards that are dealt. It is going to work.

May 1st The morning walk:

We did the walk. Had to “take siding”, to not get over stimulated. He notices, and he sometimes misbehaves. Did a 2.2 miler.

The Jogger: well we saw the jogger twice, once on the trail once on Summit View Parkway.

Parents, Toddler, and the carriage: Really are they stalking us. same route as the Jogger..we were across the street . New smells and I see them.. okay lets go.

Summit View Elementary: KIDS!!! so distracted by the gym class. We watched and moved on without incident.

Woman on the trail: God Bless this woman, I saw her from above and had time to move into the side area down to the Viewing bench. I need to claim “Local Pay” Code 25 for you Santa Fe’s LOL Dig this a Baby carriage and two German Shepherds.. We noticed, whined, but were away, far enough..and got distracted.

Venneford Ranch Road and Wynterbrook Drive Highlands Ranch:
Coming off the trail to Venneford Ranch Road, we’re one block from home. Four Douglas County Sheriff cars, light on, three cars, two involved and a possible witness. ARRRGGHHHHH !!! more distraction. I hear sirens, so West Metro Fire and Ambulance in enroute as well. How to get around this. We did… and without incident… Down Wynterbrook Drive, three homes away, victory, well maybe.

Mike the Handyman:
The red Ford Aspire and it is Mike. Moose joy and overload. That too calmed…

Life with a Moose, but still is getting better each and everyday.
