inflicted in poetry

yes you are the one
who pulled the trigger
but who put that gun
into your slender hand
who sold you the bullet
who fed you your fears?

action has consequence
a finger pulls a lever
that hits a firing pin
and something explodes
it’s cause and effect

someone makes someone afraid
which makes them buy a gun
then that person goes nuts
but after blind rampage or
maybe a shot in the dark
it does not just end there
now someone else is afraid

and who profits it all
who sold you your fear
or the booze or the drugs
who made you hate yourself
and
who will break the cycle?

yes you are still the one
whose finger twitched but
it was just the explosion
action has consequence
it’s cause and effect
so who started this all
and how much money did they
make from starting the chain?
