The quality of the light in 2014

You can always tell when you are watching an american TV programme if it is shot in California or not, it is all about the quality of the light. A lot of times CSI:NY just looked wrong. But that would be because they were shooting just outside of Los Angeles.
That isn't a bad thing per se, after all, you dont have to dodge rain/sleet/hail/snow/fog in SoCal, as you might have to elsewhere.
