under the table and making fun of you in poetry

you have no idea how much we wanted
to follow that SUV until it stopped
what with the dented-in bumper and
all the Dave Matthews Band stickers on the back
we just want to confront them and
ask if someone “crashed into you… baby?”
we would’ve come up with even more
Dave Matthews Band theme jokes but
thankfully “Crash” is about all we know
“Crash” is about all you need to know
when you get punched in the face
you don’t go around trying to go
get punched in the balls too
in the stomach in the arm in the leg
you just learn how much punched in the face sucks
then try to avoid it happening to you again
we still wanted to ask if someone
“crashed into you… baby?”
but some sick burns are too good for reality
you keep them there between you and your brother
continue down Route 5-S
on to another adventure
