I finished reading “Survival” by Ben Bova which is the fourth book in the Star Quest series. I don’t know if there will be more but there could be. He’s definitely set the stage for an infinite number of books in the series.
I started the non-fiction and then got a little overwhelmed and decided to start the John Irving book. I got two pages in and realized I had read it before. I looked at the copyright date. 2015. I got out by “Books Read” list and found out the book was read in December of 2015. Oh well.
I went back to the non-fiction.
I baked a triple fudge chocolate cake with strawberry frosting.
I cooked beef stroganoff from a recipe. It turned out so good that Mom didn’t bitch about having it two nights in a row.
Mom interrupted my pool time today. I had to take her to Walmart so Carol could do her nails again. Shorter this time as she was breaking too many. We then went to the library to drop off the last two books and then to the grocery store so I could run in for a gallon of milk.
And tonight I got my ass handed to me in Rummikub. I wasn’t doing bad and then the last hand killed me.
78 degrees today. A predicted 85 degrees tomorrow. And Thursday may be our first 90 degree day of the year. We’ll see.
I’ve thought about it some. I believe I’d like to be a few years younger and cohabiting with a female. She’ll be named Purple Biscuit and she’ll nag me into yoga and veganism and maybe a little bit of BDSM. Yeah, something like that. Unlike all previous life-sharers I’ve cohabited with she’ll have legitimate hobbies. Hell, maybe even a vocation or career. That would be different.
Or I could just hike off into the desert with my lawn chair and a book. Really, that doesn’t sound bad.
Or I could just sit here in my orange chair.
I just found this:
The best view of our mountain I’ve found so far. We’re a few miles from the southwest corner.
