by Pete Hamill This is a sweet, short memoir about his Christmastime leave from the service in 1952. He was all of 17 years old and just out of boot camp. He describes his family, his neighborhood, his friends, his "girl" who's already moved on to someone new, mostly his relationship with his dad. I've read a few of his memoirs, they're all nostalgic and sweet... times/days gone by. I like his writing.
