love's labours found in poetry

our expertise won’t save us now
plain logic won’t repair us either
now sage reasoning won’t redeem us
negotiating won’t even buy us a breather
but though no saviour in plain sight
there’s always love and love just might
and love’s best effort is no guarantee
it might just be a generation’s stall
but love is the only remaining thing
that even has a chance at all
