Debate won? in A small but passable life.

I could say I’ve won the debate. The debate? Yeah, the dorm debate of the late seventies titled basically in various renditions- “Disco or Rock N’ Roll Forever?”

I stumbled upon this while stumbling blindly through the interwebs:

So, do you remember the song? It was played mainly on this device called “FM Radio” these devices were popular in both dwellings and automobiles. Once you’ve chosen a “station” that station usually played annoyingly, repetitiously a short “playlist” of songs.

I’ve probably heard that song thousands of times. And thoroughly enjoyed it.

But now, after hearing that cover I find it hard to remember how Steven sounded singing the original.

The point is that I find it amazing that Gen Z are still paying attention to four and a half decade old music that was written off as merely “a fad” by those disco lovers.

Anyway, I’m still sitting here. I just finished “New Earth” by Ben Bova. I had taken Mom to the library so she could get her taxes done. While she was doing that I perused. I found a Ben Bova on the “New Books” shelf. It was the fourth in a series. I hadn’t read him in a while. So, I went on a quest. I found the first two books of the series on the shelf. I checked those out. I ordered the third book of the series. I put the fourth book back on the shelf. I’ll get it later. I also found a new (2015) John Irving I haven’t read yet. I checked that out.

We’ve had a week or so of cooler weather. Cooler days in the low sixties and cold nights in the forties. Still no need for socks or shoes. Just my old man slippers on cool evenings.

I let my bookmarks go for several days. That’s too far behind.

I’m not doing a survey entry. I mean, “Do you live in an apartment or a house?” Really? No, I live in a fancy shed without running water or a crapper. And I’ve lived in a van for over five years. And lived in a tent in a forest for a month at a time. And sure, I guess I have to count the nearly two years in the attic.

I’ll shut up now with a tidbit I found on the interwebs. It may have been in a comment thread. It’s not mine. It’s in quotations:
