the reasons. i think i might’ve been unlawfully detained last night are:
-in order. to detain someone a suspect. a cop legally needs. to actually have obtained [as in gotten] a warrant. i never saw one but that might not mean anything.
-but. to me.........due to having not seen one. no wait. ok.
if he thought i was suspect. then:
-he would’ve been required. to mentioned a crime over the course of our conversation. he never once said anything about a crime. i don’t have a great memory. but i remember that much. i’m pretty sure. it was never mentioned.
and since it wasn’t. then that means. he’d failed to do so. which meant he was witholding information from me.
but. this is so confusing. no i wasn’t taken into custody.
ok. so detainment is when someone is briefly stopped by the cops. which i was.
ok so yes. he had the right to detain me. ok yes i understand that part.
oh. ok. so ‘taken into custody’ means to actually either a. imprison someone or 2. to, physically detain them.
if he’d had probable cause [as in. a warrant] then he would’ve. um. taken me into custody from what i understand.
but. i never saw probable cause i never heard about it. it was never mentioned. from what i understand/from my end.
a random person just out walking and stopping me sure that’s one thing. but a cop..........oh...........god........
to answer my earlier question. no. they wouldn’t have told me. apparently.
oh...........um.........
