Snow day in Everything

I always get excited when I hear it’s going to snow. Yesterday didn’t disappoint, when I woke up there were a few inches already on the ground and it was supposed to snow most of the day, we ended up with about a foot. I emailed my boss that I would be “working from home” and I was all happy. Even if I’m working just being at home all nice and warm watching the snow makes it a little better and let’s face it, I just don’t have the self discipline to not play a little GTA while I’m supposed to be working. And because I thought ahead there was plenty of beer in the fridge, just sayin…

So as I’m “working” I hear a few thuds, not terribly loud but enough that I notice it and can feel it. I look out my window and there is a guy plowing the back sidewalk with a bobcat (small front end loader, not the scary, tear you to shreds, large and ill tempered cat you might find in the wilderness). He was attempting to turn around and was hitting the building. Now in his defense the sidewalk is only about 4 feet wide, on the other side is a good 2 inches of dirt then steep, steep, embankment and pond. I’ve seen this guy driving the bobcat around before and while he is a very pleasant, nice guy he also has that air of general incompetence about him, I wouldn’t let this guy handle a cordless screw driver never mind a heavy piece of power equipment. Moments later I hear another thud, slightly different from the one before. I look out and he has managed to go off the sidewalk, flip the bobcat onto its side, go down the embankment and into a tree. Good thing the tree was there or else he would have ended up in the pond. I just couldn’t help but laugh……and take pictures, I’ll try to post later.

For those kind souls who were concerned, the guy was fine, unhurt and relegated to shovel duty for the remainder of the day.
