In the car with M this morning, we got onto the topic of houses with high fences and gated driveways, and how it would be a must to have electronic gates because getting in and out of the car to open and close the gates would be a royal pain in the ass.
M: …and you’d want to make sure you closed them every time, because what if you came home one time and there’s some huge dog sitting in your back yard and you’re like, “What are you doing here?” and it’s just like, “Grrrrrrr!”
So.
The rest of my day at the mansion went just fine, until the last couple of hours, when time stood still. M brought Ernie in, Ernie ran down the hall to see Jim, sniffed around happily and said hello, then promptly dropped a log in front of the fireplace.
M.O.R.T.I.F.I.E.D.
Thankfully, it was rather firm, and M scooped it up in a bag and disposed of it, then came back with a sanitizer wipe to go over the tiles. Jim was polite and made a few jokes about it, so that was helped me feel less awful about it, but still. Turds.
I went home and trimmed up some onionskin paper for an Etsy order, tidied up one of my listings, and then had dinner (leftover pasta bake and salad). Soaked in the tub for an hour and started on a new book that I’m not sure I like, and then found I had enough time left over to mess around on Sims 2 for about an hour.
Today is Tracy day, as is tomorrow and Friday.
Still turning numbers over and over in my head, but last night before bed, I came to the conclusion that I most definitely have more than enough money to cover rent and bills while I’m in Australia. I’ll be able to get myself maybe $500 in Australian currency to take in my pocket. My mother and I have already discussed me most likely borrowing $1,000 from her, that I’ll pay back at $100 per week once I get back here. I have shitloads of credit cards now, that I can fall back on if needed. $1,500 sounds like a LOT for four weeks, but I definitely burned through that much in three weeks last time. Going out to meals and going visiting really takes a toll on the pocket, as does being irresponsible and drinking and smoking. BUT, the point is: it’s going to happen, and I am proud of myself for finding a way to make it happen and all that.
I’d really rather be at home, listening to David Bowie. I felt quite unwell this morning, pounding head, lots of dizziness. Took a couple of Motrin and that seems to have set me right.
OMG I nearly forgot. SO remember how I had my favorite toilet selfie printed on a fleece blanket, and sent it to my sister as part of her birthday present, and how it never arrived, and how I had a fear of some stranger having my toilet selfie blanket?
WELP. It turned up at my sister’s place yesterday morning! Kayla pointed out to me that this is probably better than it turning up on time, because now I had the element of surprise.
Candwich:
And so now I’m really glad that I didn’t just go ahead and order a new one because, really, what would we do with two of these monstrosities?
