What would you think if I sang out of tune,

Would you stand up and walk out on me ?

Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song

And I'll try not to sing out of key.

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends

Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends

Mm, gonna try with a little help from my friends

- A Little Help From My Friends - Joe Cocker

Thank you, to everyone I have met over the years through Open Diary.

Tonight will mark the end of an era ... but not the end of us.

I look forward to waking up tomorrow to a new beginning with you, and with our new friends we have made through Prosebox.

Now if you will excuse me, I have a diary site to watch take it's final breath ...

...

(Am I the only one feeling like the character, Jenny Lerner in DEEP IMPACT, as she is standing on the beach wrapped in the arms of her father, waiting for the megatsunami, caused by the Biederman comet, to come ashore?)

Yes, that is the song they played on The Wonder Years :)

I really honestly was in denial and didn't think it would happen. As a sporadic writer I was there, I did make some good friends and it was a safety net for me to write about stuff, now it is gone. Sad.

I kept hoping maybe it would be said at the eleventh hour ... guess not ...

I actually missed it by a minute or two. I was logged in, tied up on a 911 call, and when I looked back, it was gone. It kind of seems fitting that I would miss it like that, the death of a site that brought all of us so close. It's like all we have of the site is each other now... survivors... that go on without any additional support to foster our friendships other than our own desires to foster them.
