Mom’s birthday was yesterday.

I woke up early and was rather excited. Today was the day I could get some stuff done. Little baby wasn’t here, Bubby Sr and I were gonna make cookies. Our day was going to be us cuddling on the couch, eating cold pizza and watching cartoons.

Well…

I washed most of my dishes, listening to the final episodes of Up & Vanished, and was going to go to the grocery store. A friend of mine called and we were talking for quite a while. She wanted son to help her with some stuff since he’s been off like forever.

Then…

His mom called and said that his other grandmother was coming to pick him up. Then I had to wake him, get him dressed, teeth brushed, etc. Then we cuddled on the couch and watched tv. It was awesome. Then he had to go.

After which…
Son was called in to work. Fine. So I text friend and let her know that I could help her so let me know what was up. I hadn’t heard from my brother yet, but sent him a text.

In the meantime…
Friend picks me up and we head to the apartment she’s staying at. We take her stuff in the apartment, then decide to do lunch, grocery shopping and then she would take me to my mom’s. After the first two items, we go to her place, and she believes she lost her key to the apartment. Oh great. So it took a while to leave. Around that time, my brother texted me saying they were there, asked if I needed a ride. Told him I was already on the way.

So…
I get there like 30 minutes later. I was impressed with her speeding skills though I do it all the time. Lol I walked in and his new lady, son, and daughter were there. The whole family. I was shocked. Lol I don’t know why. I guess she said, we all going. It’s time I meet your family. So, I hugged New Sis and introduced ourselves. My nephew jumped up to hug me (which is uncharacteristic of him, though our “relationship” is steadying), and then i got to hug my niece. She is SOOO adorable. I hated that Bubby Sr. wasn’t at least with me. I think they would have gotten along great. So we talked on and off and we took a picture together. I traded numbers with her mom and she sent me a lot. It was a good visit. I know mom was surprised. She is the same age as Bubby Sr. So he’s had 7 years to get her here to meet us. I’m sure I’m not the one they will love so much, but I am fun with the babies.

My cousin who wasn’t speaking to me for about a year came and she spoke. Guess that was us burying the hatchet. I asked her about her back, which I had known she was having trouble with. Her daughter was with her. It was a decent time. They went out to dinner later and I was invited, but I didn’t want to impede on my big niece’s time since she was coming to get me anyway.

So I declined. Probably shouldn’t have, but I was being considerate. They are going to dad’s church today. I’m bypassing all of that. My one aunt is going to take a picture with her and talk about how cute she is and TT loves the kids, and slob all over my brother and New Sis…I hate it. LOL

It’s to be expected though. They’ve never been here as a collective so this is it.

I wonder if I will fade into the background or rather how quickly. Though New Sis did say something like, “So you’re not as bad as he says you are…” I do that head shake with a “nah” lipped that I do as my response.

I will let that slide.

All in all, I had a great yesterday.

Take care of each other.

Kindest regards,
Sister
