(1) 13 years ago, I left acting because I wanted “the little slice of Americana” more than I wanted anything else. I didn’t know how to get it, but I knew that trying to be a professional actor would not make for an easy path to House, Family style living. 13 years later… every time I try for “that little slice of Americana” I am shot down. So if you have a house, if you have kids, if you have a healthy relationship with your spouse… don’t take that shit for granted. I’ve been trying to get that for so long and I’m getting really sick of The Universe telling me that I’m asking for too much.

(2) I am really fucking sick of my bosses. 8:00 this morning… and remember, they say that our firm is officially closed this week (despite me working 10 hours on Wednesday)… 8:00 this morning, I get a text message asking me to work a full day so that the firm can re-open smoothly when the bosses return. I am an associate attorney, not your fucking assistant. But they have not concept of what that means. Because the Assistants here? They are here expressly to “manage” Chinese Boss, because she’s that fucking terrible. At least… to the Americans. So… if the two assistants that the firm has are here expressly “for the pleasure and management of Chinese Boss”… I guess, yeah. The Associate Attorney is the assistant that makes sure shit runs? Fucking bullshit.

When I told my Dad I didn’t get the ACA Job he said: “I’m so sorry BUT I’m glad you are still here in the area (silver lining, if there is one). I really wonder what God has in mind and I’m getting really tired of waiting. I did let HIM know how much HE is pissing me off. That helped a little.”

Apparently, God wants me to work in a shitty law firm for assholes (oh, not surprisingly, Chinese Boss last week talked very favorably about Slave Trade to a point where even White Boss said, “Honey, yes. Obviously people working in that kind of way has upsides, but you can’t say that.” ) So… thanks, God. Thanks for all the opportunities to try to get out from under these fuck sticks just to be told no. Great way to lend a hand.
