Hunky dory. in A small but passable life.

I spent a balmy seventy-something degree Thursday afternoon lying at the poolside.

Yesterday morning after coffee I made a quick round of errands. I went to Ace hardware for supplies to finish the two projects I’ve been planning on completing for months. I went to the library to check out two books that had arrived for me. I went to the grocery store for milk, bread, and cottage cheese.

When I got back I took one of the new books to the pool for a few hours. I had to set the Straub novel aside, again.

Daughter had called Wednesday evening with a couple of big news items. One good, one not so good? To allow for more processing time, for both of us, she said she’d call again Friday evening. Forty-eight hours. Okay.

My amazon order arrived today. The solar panel and the Bluetooth speaker. That’s two more items off my amazon wish list and added to my equipment list. Both together weigh a mere 22 ozs. That won’t add too much to the backpack base weight. At least I’ll be able to listen to music while doing camp chores without the hassles of headphones or earbuds. And while lying in the tent waiting on sleep. Yeah.

Daughter hasn’t called me back yet. I’ll wait. It’s still early tonight.

The weather back in the Ozark’s looks brutal. Highs for the next two days of only 15 degrees. And -1 predicted for New Years Eve night.

We’ll be in the seventies here all next week. With lows in the forties. If I were sleeping outside that wouldn’t even be cool enough for a sleeping bag.

I haven’t visited OD with the invite yet. Someone suggested I should just ask for my $100 back. I may. I’m amused that some people think that they can go back and everything will be the same. Good luck with that fantasy. I’m fine in my new digs right here.

I’m ready to start watching Season 4 of Black Mirror. I should have a link that works. I’m going to try to space out the episodes rather than binging. We’ll see how that works out.

So yeah, everything is hunky dory right here.
