No measurable snow here in the metro since mid-October. Daytime temps hitting up to the mid-sixties… All this sunshine should make me feel good, but I seem to be fighting to keep myself out of the dumps. Makes me so mad!!!
I had an incident last week. Was like my legs were made out of rubber and my head was not mine. Friday was really bad. Saturday a bit better. I’m still not completely over it, although I am functioning at an acceptable level. Went off on a crying jag yesterday…poor Papa. He had no idea that his remark would drain the whole Christmas Spirit right out of me. No reason that it should have. An early case of “January Blues” I guess.
Papa has been doing his regular doctor visits the last couple of weeks. Good report from the cardiologist: very little change from his last Echocardiogram which means he won’t have to have a valve replacement just yet. His visit to the VA doctor amounted to: “you were able to walk in here, so’s here’s your prescriptions for the next six months. See ya’.”
Going to my bridge group’s holiday luncheon today. Mike is doing a show way out on the east side of town Friday, but I don’t think we’ll be going. Have a card game scheduled for next Monday and that’s the last entry on my calendar for 2017. I expect something might come up, though.
Just about have the gift shopping done. Well, most of the gifts we’ll be sending are monetary… Grandkids can use cash and I have no idea what to buy for them that would be better. There’s the baby afghan I made for the little bun and some token gifts for the girls… Still have to find some little things for daughter and hub…Sent them a gift box of Omaha Steaks a week ago and they have that in their freezer already. Think I’ll send a check to Food Bank of the Rockies in Mike and Jeri’s name… Anything I could buy for them they already have… and they do actually volunteer at the Food Bank on a regular basis, so they are aware of the desperate need there. I think it will please them.
Gotta go now.
