Wow! That moon was something last night. Hope you all got to see it. It was almost 70 degrees here yesterday but a front moved in overnight an there is a cold wind howling this morning. They had been predicting snow for today, but I see they’ve changed the forecast to wind and partly cloudy. Guess the snow went somewhere else. That suits me just fine.
We went to church yesterday. Have not been going for some time. Just sort of got in the habit of not going while Bob was sick and never got back. Shame on us. I NEED to go to church…every week. Hope to get back in to habit before the year is over and then I won’t have to make it a New Year’s resolution.
Busy week. Bridge club today and hopefully I’ll get a little shopping done afterward. Wednesday is our senior club formal Christmas dinner/dance. We hold it here at the Event Center on the campus of our complex which is decorated beautifully. We have the dinner catered. This year it will be Italian. Every year we hire a “one-man band” who is very talented and provides music for dancing–or if you’re like us, just background for visiting and listing. (Our dancing days are over, I’m afraid.) Bob and a couple of other guys like to dress up in their tuxedoes and the ladies drag out their best bling. Our son Mike and his wife will be going as our guests.
On Friday there will be a Christmas Tea here in our building for the residents. It is put on by a woman who lives here. Her church friends help her and they do a lovely job. Adds a lot to the holiday spirit.
We will be going to at least three more parties and a concert before the month is over…it’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.
