Poolie is in blue.

“We will be there for breakfast,” Bobbie said when she called the night before. “We are leaving at five to beat the LA traffic.”

Nope, they overslept. We went out for a senior omelette with a blueberry muffin. They arrived for a short visit just after we got home. She liked her quilt top and said it was my best work ever. Perhaps she was swayed by the many yards of purple.

After they left, G baked his biscuits and learned that 8 minutes was just right for his tiny creations. I whipped cream, called the kids, and put my favorite mumu on. The temperature was to be beyond hot inland. Yes, we took the air conditioned car.

We were family, inner circle, and Pam’s roommate, an exchange student from Japan who had never had a Thanksgiving meal before. The food was really good, the turkey was moist, and desert pushed me over the top. It was a happy bunch until Poolie fell. She couldn’t get up again.

As the firemen and paramedics got her into the ambulance, we headed home. A little game time on the computer. A nap for me. Texts and phone call updates about Poolie. And later on, a slice of toast for dinner with a Harry Potter movie. Holding hands while being taken away to a magic land…that was a perfect ending to our day.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

  • Himself: He has the day off and going to see Poolie.

  • Herself: I’m off to work. I was the only person there until noon Wednesday, and I think I will be the only back room person today too. It’s going to be busy as we are having a 25% off sale.

  • Reading: Finished Evanovich 24. A good fast read.

  • Captain Poolie: Home with only a sprain or perhaps a torn ligament in one ankle.

  • Gratitude’s: That it was such a good friend filled day.
