Maybe today? in A small but passable life.

Mom and I were invited out to Thanksgiving dinner by my cousin and his wife. It was a small restaurant buried in the suburbs about a dozen exits west on the freeway. It was a nice, rather small venue. It was crowded and noisy. And the service rather slow. But the food was great. A good holiday meal.

When we got home I retired to my hidey hole for the rest of the day.

I found some more world travelers on youtube:

I started watching their story when they were heading east on the Trans Siberian Railroad.

Good stuff. I may have to go back to the beginning of their journey and watch it all.

Anyway, the weather has been glorious, about ten degrees above average. It was 86 degrees yesterday and predicted to be higher for the rest of the weekend before cooling off into the seventies next week.

I had to order two new batteries for Mom’s scooter. I found them on Amazon, $140 for both of them.

Mom got bored and made two pumpkin pies. Now I’m supposed to go to the store and buy some Cool Whip. Of course, a one item forgotten grocery store run.

Daughter finally texted me a “Happy Thanksgiving!” last night. She also said that things have been hectic.

Another dumbass had to be rescued from the Saguaro National Park. I told Mom they should have left him a candy bar and left him out there.

It sure doesn’t help my case for wanting to go out for several days of backpacking BY MYSELF.

Mom is convinced I’m just another dumbass for wanting to solo.

It’s probably more dangerous driving to the trailhead.

So yeah, things are just peachy around here. Mom hasn’t found a new consumer item to fuss and fidget about yet.

I need to retrieve all the Christmas crap from out of the attic out here so she can go through it. She claims that most of it won’t be going back up there and will be gotten rid of. We’ll see.

I need to go to the pool. I need to shower.

Maybe today.
