A suppressed urge! in A small but passable life.

I really dread going anywhere, but yesterday turned out fairly decent. Mom and I went to Tru Value. No quarter round. We went to Ace Hardware. I went in while Mom went next door to Dollar General. I found no quarter round. She found pencils, erasers, and a loaf of bread. We went to Home Depot. I left Mom in the garden section. I found the quarter round in a place I hadn’t looked before when I was last there with the kids. I grabbed two ten foot long sticks and cut them both in half to get them in the car. While I was wandering around I stumbled into a Magic Chef mini-frig built in a retro style. The color (sea foam green?) and the shape were SO cool! It had a little freezer compartment and a lot of room in the door. It was a real compressor driven refrigerator and it was only $148. I wanted to be a mindless consumer and buy it just to have it, but alas, I tamped it down.

I found Mom in the garden section. I found the white rock I needed. Marble chips is what they’re called. I loaded three bags into the cart. Mom had found a plant. I think it is a chrysanthemum.

We drove across the parking lot to Popeye’s for lunch. We went inside to eat. Always good chicken there. They even had sweet tea, for me, which is rare here. A nice young gentleman helped Mom with the soda dispenser, as I had no clue how to make it dispense. Too many buttons!

I was home lying on my bed listening to NPR before 2pm. I called it a day. A good day.

Today it is supposed to warm up into the mid-eighties. I think I’ll take the Peter Straub novel to the pool here in a little bit.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
