Surprise for Grandma? in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “Sleeping Beauties” by Stephen and Owen King. It was a nice 700 page novel that took me a while to read because I kept getting interrupted. But alas, that is the price one pays while living at the whim of another person.

A little over a week ago I ran Daughter’s latest idea by her Grandma. The idea being bringing the van out here to let me work on the conversion for a week or so. Instead of being like all “Oh how wonderful! My youngest granddaughter coming over a thousand miles to visit!” She instantly goes into a spiel about how many “issues” there will be. Where will they sleep? Where will they park? “They” might not let you work on the van. On and on. I let it drop right then and haven’t mentioned it again since. And neither has Mom.

So, the last call was from Oklahoma City at 6pm. They are making progress after a brief kerfluffle in Joplin earlier in the afternoon.

They should be here about 6am to 8am in the morning.

While they are here I plan to be working about 10 to 12 hours a day on the van. If Daughter can keep me supplied with materials I should be able to make a significant dent in the build.

Roof vent.
Ceiling.
Wiring.
Floor.
Walls.
Bed platform.
Cabinets.

And that should about rough it out.

I lived in that van for five years. I’ve done a fair amount of mental and actual measuring and figuring a re-build.

We’ll see.

This past six months may be the longest I’ve went without seeing my daughter. I’ll have to ask her about that.

I’d post pictures of the work in progress but Photobucket crapped out for me.
