Five Years in 2017

Five years ago we married. I walked down the aisle as tornado sirens went off outside. We were supposed to have an outdoor ceremony, but Mother Nature had other plans and (thankfully!) the venue sneaked us into an empty conference room. All was well. Our actual anniversary was on the 14th, and it was a stormy day most of the day. So, if youre thinking about an October wedding in Chicago....maybe have an indoor option. ;)

Matt and I went to a spanish tapas restaurant. Its placed in a restored mansion and a really neat atmosphere. But its ten thousand times better if you go eat off peak time. It gets pretty crowded and noisy. It had been years since I had been there, and Matt had never been. I love the idea of getting a bunch of different small plates to share. Yum. I would say the food was great but not amazing. There is a spanish tapas restaurant in our town that is a bit better (though also pricier).

Seven years of dating ((three breakups in there)). 5 years of marriage. Three babies together. Addiction. Illness. Child loss. We’ve been through a LOT. Things aren’t perfect, and Im not naive enough to believe that it will ever be. But, its a work in progress and we have both really been making communication efforts lately. We are learning to better serve each others love languages. Im hopeful to make dates a more regular thing.
