A Houston cousin. in A small but passable life.

Mom has finally heard through her brother in Midland about his daughter and her family in Houston. Their house never flooded but is basically on a small island. They are currently hosting/housing families from nine other houses in their neighborhood who weren’t so lucky and are submerged.
June 23rd 1805. Lewis and Clark have picked a branch and are portaging. And still convinced that the Columbia river is just on the other side just mere miles away.
The cursor is still annoying and I’m just not in the mood for it.
I’d really like that new laptop I’ve found for $349.
Or resurrect my life pre-internet.
