• We got up at dawn to drive forever north for breakfast. Grandson Alex’s girlfriend believe’s in family. She believes they need to stay in touch. She’s very right, but over the years my familleness has been blunted by rejection. Still we were welcomed warmly with the new granddaughter caught up in her computer game and Alex half asleep.
• Next we drove back into the big city to see Poolie….a much better Poolie. She wasn’t bounding around, but her wit and smile had returned. We didn’t stay long as she was surrounded by a parade of visitors in her new nursing home. Yes, it is clean, neat, sunny, and comfortable. Progress.
• Frankly my dear, we came home to nap after all that.
