your life is like a twenty-piece mcnuggets
it’s super cheap and kind of gross and it’s
incredibly delicious in a crass sort of way
you sure as hell don’t want to think
about the process in which is was made
you want to tear through all the good bits
while it’s all still piping hot but
when it’s gone it’s gone so
you better make it last

your life is like a twenty-piece mcnuggets
enjoying it is probably bad for you in the long run
a lot of people ended up oppressed and underpaid and
overworked just to make it happen but
it’s here now in your hands either way
so you might as well make the best of it
it’s impure, unhealthy, greasy in both good and bad ways
loaded with fillers no one cares to mention and
without a lot of extra sauce
it becomes boring and one-note pretty quickly
if you can’t take heaping amounts of sour with the sweet
what’s even the point?
sometimes you need to just embrace the weird chemicals
let your tongue dance

your life is like a twenty-piece mcnuggets
you’ll get a handful of shapes to work with
some are better for dipping than others
occasionally it’s gonna get messy
occasionally you’re gonna run dry and
if you want things to be spicy most of the time
you better be prepared to cough up a lot more money
sometimes it’s on sale
sometimes it’s not and
though it seems ubiquitous
some day you’re gonna have to go without

your life is like a gorge of twenty piece mcnugget boxes in succession
the first twenty go by like you’re just drinking water
the second twenty with just a little difficulty
but somewhere in the mix of that third twenty, man
it starts getting really hard to keep choking down the crap

your life is like a twenty-piece mcnuggets
it’s weird and unnatural and misshapen and crunchy
but with the right way of looking at it
it can be a little feast
it’s all in how you let yourself experience it
while you have it
so y’know
for Christ’s sake, get the extra dipping cups
it’s the only chance you got
