Trucking along in One day at a time

We get a four day weekend for Easter. Friday and Monday are public holidays. I am hanging out for it. I have a huge list of household stuff I would like to get completed. Already though, things are starting to creep in. On Good Friday I have a widows dinner, I’ll have to be organised as the stores are all closed that day. Most importantly, I will need to ensure I have wine on hand (they are very long evening’s stone cold sober). A friend just took delivery of a brand new BMW, so we are planning a bit of a roadie on the Saturday. Who knows how the rest of the weekend will transpire, I’m good at making plans, but I also damn good at lying on the couch binge watching bad TV.
The French film festival has been on, and that makes me happy. Tonight I will be seeing my 4th film in 10 days. Ah the scenery and the humour. I love it.
I visited my home time a couple of weeks ago. Mum was fantastic. She has dementia and you really never know what you are going to get. The way her face lights up when I go there makes the tedious four hour drive worth it. She says that she is very disappointed that my Brother hasn’t set me up with one of his friends. Um no, he is 10 years my senior, and all his mates are very fond of booze and a bit of recreational drug use. One man baby in my life is enough, Thanks Mum. My niece is back using hard drugs. It’s so sad and puts a huge strain on her family. I’m really not sure how that is going to end.
Speaking of Man Baby, he has been behaving himself of late and we are getting on pretty well. We have tentatively started to plan a trip together to LA next January to see a concert. That’s kind of a big step for both of us.
So that is my life at the moment, no highs no lows, and I kind of like it that way.
