Definitely feeling overwhelmed today.

Many cases that all need work but the primary concern? I haven’t been paid for a private case that, if they don’t give me a grand in cash, I have to withdraw from. Which would be bad for everyone. Bad for me/my partners because that is work that I’ve done for free. Bad for them because now they won’t have an attorney. Bad for the state because The State will have to find an attorney for them. Ultimately?

I just want to do my job. Get paid. The end.

This is why I really don’t (1) like Appointment work; (2) Criminal Defense. Bah!

But on the other side of it? I have an immigration case that my Chinese Boss wants resolved by the end of the week (she gave it to me yesterday). It requires Certified Copies of Criminal Records. That… will be difficult to get in 24 hours!
