Out and about at 108 degrees. in A small but passable life.

I told Mom when I came in that I was heading out at 9am this morning. She said the Price Is Right comes on at nine. I said you can stay home and watch it. Not quite an hour later when I went back in to turn the coffee pot off she was dressed and ready to go. Ha!

The library opens at 9am. I went in and checked out a book that was waiting for me. Next stop was the post office where I went in and bought a cardboard box for Mom. Next stop was Walmart where I followed Mom around (completely compliant and non-bitching!), while she gathered odds and ends. I found two synthetic T-shirts, some kind of performance material, for $3 apiece. I found another big book of crossword puzzles for $3.99. I found a small dry erase board with magnets for the frig door for $2. Next stop was JoAnn’s (sp?) where Mom shopped for more sundries. While she was doing that I wandered next door to the Goodwill where I’d bought the $15 chair to peruse the bookshelves. I found a Rodale’s book on herbs and one on perennials for $2.95 each. (Time for some learnin’!) Next stop was Burlington’s where Mom returned the swimsuit she’d bought. (Too small.) And then it was across the parking lot to Applebee’s for lunch. On the way home I stopped and ran into the store for milk and coffee creamer.

We were home by 1pm! That’s the way it’s done. Well, the way I prefer it done. Especially when it’s 108 degrees outside.

I figured out the Omaha Steaks ordering debacle by eventually scrolling down on the order conformation email. Ordered on 6/27, scheduled delivery on 7/13. Whatever.

I’m still trying to figure out the boostmobile payment thing. Emails in, emails out. Something to do, I guess. Two payments of $54.95 deducted from account on 7/5. Should be one payment of $50. Their email said it was only $50 deducted. We’ll see how long it takes to straighten this out.

Comment from Mom today: “I’ve never heard anyone bitch as much as you do!” Well fuck, it’s not like I’ve never heard that from a female before!

And yeah, it’s not bitching, it’s commentary on life. Deal with it.

I’m still thinking about getting a medic-alert bracelet that says that I’ve got Alzheimer’s. Tell me I’m bitching then!

New phone is still powered down.
