hell in poetry

we all go to Hell twice
once for the lessons
then again to learn
how to forgive ourselves

hell is only other people
if you’ve never come to terms
with the fact that there have
to be other people in the world
once you come to terms with the
fact that it isn’t all about you
other people is the only heaven
we know for sure there is to have

hell is almost exactly like being alive except
you’ve stopped trying to beat the monsters back
you’ve instead rolled over and accepted it
are you in hell right now?
are you sure?
