Two hours to go. in A small but passable life.

3pm. Two more hours until my ride to the airport. Everything is packed away. The check-in bag ended up weighing 36 point something pounds. The scale I used is a digital scale so hopefully it is accurate.

It had started thunder storming Friday at midnight and continued non-stop until this morning. Last night it was raining hard so I didn’t go to the library to print out my boarding pass. I had a choice between wet feet or paying $5 at check-in for a boarding pass. I chose dry feet.

Piled against the wall up here will be:

Footlocker.
Army duffle bag.
Full-size backpack.
Big tote.
Little tote.
A carry-on suitcase.
A small ditty bag.
My straw hat.
Black duffle with Winter sleeping bag in it.
Rolled sleeping pad.
Two fly rods in their cases.
Hiking staff.
Umbrella.
A wooden cane.
Lawn chair.
Camp table.
And the 5 items hanging downstairs.

It really looks like a lot when listed like that, but in reality it looks rather compact and tidy when stacked neatly against the wall.

I have confidence that whomever gets to carry it all down the stairs whenever the house is vacated will be cussing me.

Anyway, Daughter seems to have woken up early so I need to go downstairs and chat and maybe fix something to eat since I haven’t ate yet today.
