Living in Cornwall it seems we have more then early blooms coming out in Spring, I had been out mowing the front lawn; I don’t mind doing it but my back has other thoughts of that activity!

Last weekend my Daughters boyfriend cut the back lawn, the larger lawn and he mowed it twice on the same day, it is the right thing with the a first cut of the season; so on Good Friday morning I did the job.

After my mowing I went in to cleaning the kitchen, standing at the sink something brushed my ear, as we do I waved my hand past my ear and something very small fell on to my hand, I was looked down at a set of animated lines.

It was the smallest Stick Line I’ve ever seen, or I should say the first Stick Insect I’ve seen up close, by now it was walking on the rim of the washing bowl fill with hot water, not a good place for something so small, I tried to get it on my finger but it just razed up the front legs to my finger; I wondered if a Line could sting!

The new book and ‘Bridge’

Cold tonight again after a sunny day with a cool breeze, when the breeze dropped is was very warm for April, if is weather runs into May and June Cornwall could be busy; the county relies on holiday makes.

I bought a new book last week ‘The Message, The Bible in contemporary language’ in LARGE PRINT, my old Good News Bible was getting difficult to read in comfort, Gill and I bought one each; we were running a Sunday School in Shrewsbury; that was is in 1970’s.

The new Bible will not travel fare as it is twice the size of the Good News Bible, I’m using Methodist on line reading plan, I’m in trouble to night as the internet is coming and going; and I’m having problems with Bridge!

Bridge is a program that links the row images to Photoshop and on to the folders, so any images come your way will not be edited as usually ……………. )c:

At last I’ve got round to making the wire Cross for Easter Sunday, now the ladies will have time to dress the bare wire frame, this one is filled with Oasis. My idea was a little on the large side, so I’ve played to the crowd and gone small! I ordered a box of twenty blocks of Oasis, the local price was £1.60 where as each block on my box is 70p!

My new small Cross needed only four blocks, as lest the ladies will have 16 nice new blocks of Oasis, the old oasis around the church looks like a German holey cheese gone green.

The long weekend.

Saturday was shopping, we were having roast Lamb on Easter Sunday, I was sent out with a list, lot very long but a bag of potatoes is always heavy, and there was a list in my head; a few last minuets things. My Son likes Cider and we don’t buy drink very much, so his four cans of cider and a bottle of Oz Red; our third bottle this year!

Some veg and butter on at a good prise all added to the weight of my trolley, from Tesco to the underpass is lever or down, on the other side is defiantly up and I was feeling the weight, a women passing offered to help me with my trolley; almost automatic I said ‘no thank you’ and added ‘slow and steady’

At the top I stop and to get my breath, on my left is Marks & Spencer’s, it comes to me the one thing Tesco’s didn’t have, I came out with ready to warm Lamb Gravy; I can make gravy but for years they have insisted in the ready stuff – tomorrow we well see if it any good!

Easter Sunday.

I hadn’t see the wire cross I’d made in Sunday afternoon and finished on Monday, when I walked into Church I didn’t see it as I walked to my seat, mostly I seat on the left near to the front, I looked down to make a short payer; on sitting up I noticed a folded cash bag – it was £13.90 I spent on Oasis.

Looking round I saw the Cross dressed with flowers and spring leafs, much as I thought it; then the serves began, on a day like this the hymens were up lifting. We had Minister today so we could take of the body and the blood, normally we can gather round as one body; today there was a second gathering for communion.

After the serves I went to thank Wendy for their her work, but she told my there were two young girls there who wanted to help, it seems they took over and made the great job of dressing the Cross. That story seems to make the Cross more special, alas they were not there today.
