vessel in poetry

I am basically a big old slosh of water
coming up to the shape and to the level
of whatever vessel I end up poured into
it’s for better and for worse at once
I don’t know if everyone is but I am
conforming to parameters surrounding
shallow in a wide dish
or slendered in a tube
expanding in the heat
or hardened by the cold
stiffened by getting old
left to my own devices
I just float and bloat
I don’t know how to move
but by the force of gravity
left to my own accord well I
don’t know what’d become of me
still
I hope I get lucky
